FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

An escape room is a room in which you’re locked up and out of which you have to escape within an hour.
Escape, that sounds easy, but it certainly isn’t! To make it to the door and regain your freedom you’ll have to solve riddles, make connections and, most importantly, work together with your teammates.

If you get stuck during the game the monastery will try to help you. In this way we give everyone a chance to finish the game, but of course we won’t make it too easy.

The rooms are exciting, but not so scary that it’ll leave you sleepless for weeks. We do our best to take you on a thrilling adventure, but it’s also a game and there will be no physical contact from a furious Bloody Mary, Gaston Boucher or Amy, and no heavy exertion will be expected of you. You do need nerves of steel!

The entities Bloody Mary, Gaston Boucher and Amy are dangerous, the rooms itself are not. But only if you play by the rules. You don’t have to climb, jump, furniture doesn’t have to be dragged, brute force is unnecessary and you don’t have to use your hands above your head.
The room has several cameras. From the control room, the game leader is constantly watching you. In case of calamities we can stop the game with 1 push of a button and switch on the emergency lighting. The game leader will come to your aid and guide you out.

You’re in the room Bloody Mary for an hour, 75 minutes for Soup du Jour, and 80 minutes for Poppet)at most. Of course, the sooner you’re out, the better.

Don’t worry, we won’t leave you locked up there forever. If you don’t manage to leave the room in time, the game leader will come and pick you up and escort you out of the room.

Bloody Mary, Soup du Jour and Poppet can be played with a team of 2 to 6 people. We make no exceptions (to expedite safety and a good gaming experience)! Experience shows that the ideal number with which to do an escape room is 4,5 persons. If it is difficult to find half a teammate, we recommend playing with 4 or 5 people.
If there are more of you, inquire about the possibilities, we offer several other fun combination activities!

Make sure your team is complete about 10-15 minutes before the start. The room will be reserved in fixed time slots and the group after you will probably not want to have to wait unnecessarily…
We have a reception area where you can warm up your brains with puzzles and games. The game leader will pick you up here and guide you to the room.

No, you can just enter the room in your daily outfit. Everyone is free in their choice of clothing, albeit within reason.
For example, do you want to play the game on your bachelor party in a rabbit suit? No problem, although this will undoubtedly be a bit warm.
Also, you don’t need running shoes, Bloody Mary, Gaston Boucher and Amy don’t do marathons.

Yes, we do. The most important rules in a row:

  • Playing Bloody Mary and/or Soup du Jour and/or Poppet is entirely at your own risk.

  • Valuables can be stored safely before you enter the room.
  • Playing under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs is not allowed, you will not be given access to the room.
  • Minimum age for participation is 15 years old.
  • Each team with participants aged 15-18 must be accompanied by at least one adult (18+).
  • When in doubt about the age of a participant, we ask for identification.
  • Cancellations up to 72 hours before reservation are free of charge. For cancellations less than 72 hours before the start we will charge the full amount.
  • Forcing things, smashing them, or deliberately destroying them is not allowed. The costs we have to make for repairs will be charged to the group.
  • Make sure you’re on time. Being late can result in a shorter playing time.
  • Bloody Mary, Soup du Jour and Poppet are not recommended for people with heart problems.

No, you can’t. If you really can’t keep it in, we’ll have to stop the game. Of course you have the possibility to use the toilet before the game starts. We can’t guarantee that you’ll keep your pants dry during the game…

You don’t have to be an acrobat to play the room. You don’t have to run half a marathon or climb or crawl. Unfortunately, the room isn’t suitable if you’re in a wheelchair.
Soup du Jour is physically a slightly bigger challenge than Bloody Mary. Unfortunately, this room is also not suitable if you are in a wheelchair. Both rooms are suitable for pregnant women, although Soup du Jour is more challenging.

The rooms are set up so that you can play if you have basic knowledge of the Dutch and/or English language. If you don’t speak either of these two languages, the rooms can also be played, you don’t have to solve linguistic puzzles. Please mention your preferred language when booking.

No, you can’t. We have a minimum age of 15. Young people from 15 to 18 years of age may only enter the room if accompanied by an adult (18+). For participants aged 15 to 18, one adult per team must enter the room.

If in doubt about your age, we ask you for your identity papers. If this shows that a young person is not old enough, he/she is not allowed to play the room.
If someone finds the game too exciting, we can briefly interrupt the game so that he/she can leave the room.

Yes! We have a reception area with a bar. Drinks and simple snacks are in stock, but by agreement it is also possible, for example, to have a delicious high-tea provided by our opposite neighbour Cake Queen, yummy! Click here for an overview of our arrangements.

Bloody Mary, Soup du Jour and Poppet can be played with a team of 2 to 6 people. If you’re with more, the group will have to split up, we don’t make exceptions! We do offer fun combination-activities, so 2 groups can do something at the same time. Ask about the possibilities, or make a suggestion yourself, we are certainly open to fun ideas.
